Well after thinking about it 5 years ago. I finally did it! Saw a segment on the news this morning and decided to dive in and go for it. After signing up at www.geocaching.com I took my 6 year old son on our first hunt. We found that there is a cache at Old School Park but couldn't find it. We think that it was taken. Apparently it was taken in August but was replaced. Anyhow we came home with our tail between our legs on that one. Found a couple more out at Fortson Mill Pond so went there with GPS in hand. We found the first one and my son became VERY interested in geocaching he got really excited when we found it as did I. We traded a frog keychain for a PT Cruiser. Not a bad trade. So we went to find the second one there. It was what they call a micro cache, just a 35mm film canister with a login sheet. All in all it was a fun time and got us out of the house for a change. New hobbies are always fun especially when you can spend time with your kids. I will post some pictures and coordinates soon in the geocaches forum.
